Statement of commitment

I am committed to making this website accessible in accordance with S.I. 358/2020 and the European Accessibility Act.

I am committed to achieving AA standard under WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

Compliance status

This website (https://www.ahoy.ie/) is currently mostly compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.

The website scored 95% compliance using Accessibility Checker which is a tool listed on the W3C website’s list of Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools.

Accessibility Testing

Several accessibility audits have been carried out but user testing has not been done on the website.

Improving accessibility

  • I will make photo-descriptions (image alt text) mandatory on the website and will carry out regular spot-checks on photos on a regularly basis.
  • I will publish content only in HTML pages, instead of less accessible formats such as PDF, where possible.
  • I will continue to use plain English where writing content, where possible.
